Sick leave is meant for situations in which you are unable to work due to illness or a physical or psychological impairment. Therefore, if there are no medical complaints at the time of calling in sick, calling in sick is not appropriate.<\/p>\n<p>That said, an industrial dispute can lead to illness. Prolonged tension or stress, for instance, can cause psychological or physical complaints. In that case, there may still be legitimate sick leave, in which case a company doctor will assess whether you are unfit for work.
